Production: Body Painting Artistry

This promotional video featuring the body painting artistry of Jennifer Montgomery modeled by Arielle Johnson and Leanna was arranged shortly after meeting the group of artists at a Philadelphia artist showcase. Utilizing the visual texture of the Harmonic Distortion studio space, stunning imagery was captured for the better part of a day - all at 3K resolution at 60fps. Every single member of the cast and crew performed with precision.

Local actress and model, JaQuinley Kerr is also a designer and make up artist. We created an art video with her set at an amazingly unique and artistic studio in New Hope, PA. Surrounded by custom woodwork, stained glass, and metal working, JaQuinley showed off her self-made outfit and make up.

Production - Drop Anchor Music Video pt 3

The Drop Anchor music video "Always Tempting Fate" finished up with a few more days of shooting with actor Tony Slade supported by actors Paul Monte, Jennifer Snyder, and about 20 wonderful extras. Shooting locations included an office building in King of Prussia, PA, two different home locations in Lansdale, PA, shooting on a SEPTA train, and running around some empty streets of a quiet Philadelphia suburb.

Funny (and sad) story: You see the glass doors behind actor, Tony Slade in the top photo... We had him panicked and running out of the building towards the camera. The door was initially propped open with a rock but it was visible so we shut the door to have him run through. The downside is that the building is a "secured building" and even exiting the building, the door needs to be pushed at a certain speed. Tony's velocity was to fast and when he went to blast through the door, it didn't budge an inch and Tony suffered a resulting bruise for several weeks after. He healed and is okay but it was really something. In the end, we found something very small to prop the door open with and Tony finished out the day with a wounded shoulder. He's a total pro.

On this late night shoot, the Calle Luna Dance Studio performed one of the most intense two minutes of salsa dancing anyone could possibly imagine. The catch is, they had to do this over and over when it was shot from various angles and focal lengths. Staying hydrated with water and Gatorade, they made it through the night with about 30 takes in the can.

Stamphill gets signed on to produce a promotional video for a local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club of America. To be used as a fundraising tool, the video contains a lot of interviews with community leaders and attendees of the club.

Production: Welcome Home, Charlie Valentine

Stamphill Motion Pictures produced the mini-short film, "Welcome Home, Charlie Valentine" - written by Jason Lauer and starring Bruce Clifford, Frank Thon and Sarah Dewey. We shot it in the quiet town of Perkasie, PA with some great locations that fit the crime story perfectly. Minor mishaps included unwanted piles of snow in one of our shooting spots, a moving violation ticket, and a church bell that rang every fifteen minutes. All in all, everything worked out very well.

We tackled our first car commercial. It was a spec to show what we can do with a car mount and vehicle mounted jibs. Entitled "fun never grows old", the storyline parallels a father and son both enjoying a car experience - the father driving the car and the son playing with a toy car at home. Due to uncontrollable variables, the shoot day was a little stressed but the cast and crew performed really well and the yielded great footage.

Production: A Battle to the Death - sword fight

Shooting a scene in Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA, Jarrod Weida and Josh Gieringer clashed steel for hours as the RED Oner camera flew around on the EZFX 16' Jib with remote pan/tilt head. A great crew handled the shoot to go as smoothly as possible with two tech for the battle's finale with all the fake blood that was needed. Jarrod was getting over being sick and the day definitely took its physical toll on the fighters but everyone left with smiles on their faces and we wrapped only 30 minutes past the scheduled wrap time. Not bad!

Production: Talonted

Despite, last minute casting and last minute location arrangements, the promotional narrative video for hip hop artist, Talonted, worked out well in the end. The primary day of shooting was about 16 hours long and actor, Damien Colletti, endured a burn on his hand from a tie that was set on fire but everyone left the shoot in good spirits. The majority of the video was shot at 4K on the RED One - slow motion shots were shot at 2K at 120fps.

Story synopsis:

One with strong passion cannot be broken down. That is the theme for "The Talonted Never Lose," a short film that plays with captivating imagery to get its point across. This piece serves as a cinematic visual of one undergoing several challenges, both physical and mental, while in pursuit of one's passion to achieve something great. The main setting takes place in a dark, grim interrogation room where the main character, Talonted, (playing himself) undergoes different forms of torment by an interrogator, played by Damien Colletti, to break his spirit. But Talonted's passion keeps him holding on with confidence. At the end of the movie, we see just whether this torment is actual or simply all in the mind of Talonted, and how Talonted continues in spite of it all.

The Stamphill team collaborated with Digital Precision Media to produce a promotional recruiting video for the Temple University Engineering Department's Masters Program. Each day was shot on the RED One camera at 4K and 2K for slow motion footage at 120fps.

Production: Semi-Pro Skateboarder shoot

Tom Martyn set up the shoot with semi-pro skateboarder, Mikey Leven at the FDR Skate Park in Philadelphia, PA. After a brief warm up, Leven shredded the skate park and we blasted out a quick, guerilla style video - shot on the RED One at 2K resolution at 120fps. Recently, Leven's wins at East Coast skating tournaments have caught the eye of Vans - keep an eye out for him... he's definitely on the way up!

Production: Cashore Marionettes - promotional video

Joseph Cashore has been bringing marionettes to life for more than 20 years. We teamed up with him to capture his work cinematically. Shot at the Lansdale Center for the Performing Arts in Pennsylvania, Cashore performed some of his most popular works and brought a new piece he was working on.

Production: East Falls Glassworks

Glass blowing is fascinating - plain and simple. If you see it done well, it looks amazingly easy. We captured master glass blowing artisan, Jon Goldberg, creating a tectonic ordinate vase in his Philadelphia, PA studio - East Falls Glassworks. Over the course of 90 minutes, Goldberg - assisted by Nikolaj Christensen - created a $1600 work of art which we boiled down to its essence with a runtime of five minutes so you can see the majority of the vast amount of work that goes into creating the glass art.
